Yes, that's allowed. You must notify us in advance by email (info@moes-tuinen.nl).
No, that's not possible. Only MOES gardeners have access to the complex, so it's wise to make an appointment to ensure someone from our team is present and available to show you around. Visit the contact page for more information.
Yes, there are restrooms. There are three women's restrooms and three men's restrooms. These restrooms were newly built in 2025.
Yes, that's allowed, but it's limited to one adult. You can always bring your children, but make sure you always keep an eye on them. If you'd like to regularly work on your vegetable garden with someone else, that's certainly possible too. This person must register with us, can optionally get their own access token, and will then count not as a single guest but as a full-fledged MOES gardener. We also organize Open Days several times a year, where you can bring several people to show off your vegetable garden.
Yes, our soil is suitable for vegetable gardening. We've had the soil professionally tested for heavy metals, chemical pesticides, and PFAS. The results show that our soil meets safety and health standards.
We'd like to provide some background on the past use of our greenhouses. The greenhouses were built and commissioned in 1980, and in the early 1990s, we transitioned from open-field cultivation to substrate cultivation. This meant that from then on, we grew roses and hydrangeas not in the ground, but in rockwool blocks. These were placed on racks above the (covered) ground. Water and fertilizer were administered via a closed system and therefore didn't seep into the soil. In fact, the soil in our greenhouses hasn't been used since the early 1990s, until the launch of MOES Tuinen.
For the sake of completeness, we would like to point out that gardening at MOES Tuinen is always at your own risk.
Our access control system is linked to the official sunrise and sunset times in Amstelveen. So these times are different every day! Fortunately, you can easily find them on, for example, the iPhone's weather app, but also if you search in Google for, for example, "sunrise Amstelveen today".
Yes, you can park your car for free on our premises. We also have a bicycle shed.
Yes, you can buy a selection of De Bolster organic vegetable seeds from us. You can also buy vegetable plants from us from the end of February through October.
No, we no longer have any options for heating the greenhouse in the winter. However, we do have limited climate control in the greenhouse using our ventilation windows and screens. Therefore, we cannot guarantee that it will not freeze in the greenhouse and would like to remind you that you are responsible for protecting your frost-sensitive plants during the winter.
