Autumn Workshop (English)
- Aug 08 2026
- Expired!
- 11:00 - 12:30
When summer reaches its peak, it is time to switch from summer maintenance to the “autumn transition.” Join us in our No-Dig Education Garden for a hands-on workshop aimed at maximizing your current summer harvest while simultaneously preparing your beds for the cooler months. We will show you how to gradually round off your summer crops—such as tomatoes and peppers—to make room for a productive autumn and winter garden.
What are you going to learn?
🔹 The final summer sprint & tidying up: Learn how to handle the “late-season peak” of your tomatoes, cucumbers, and eggplants. We cover techniques to ripen the last fruits and, more importantly, how to clear out exhausted crops using No-Dig methods that preserve the fungal networks in the soil. We also tour the beds of the Education Garden to determine which plants are ready to be removed and which can continue growing until the first frost.
🔹 Preparing the “winter base”: Healthy winter crops start as early as July/August. We show you how to replenish your beds with a fresh layer of compost (the “No-Dig mulch”) immediately after harvesting summer crops. You will learn how to maintain soil health and soil life as the days shorten, so that your soil remains productive in the winter as well.
🔹 Seasonal advice + Q&A: Don't leave your beds empty! We dive into succession cropping for autumn and winter harvests. This includes the best crops for late sowing—such as hardy leafy greens, cabbages, and root crops—and how you can significantly extend your growing season with simple protection (such as netting or fleece).
We look forward to welcoming you to our No-Dig education garden for this important seasonal workshop. Whether you want to get the most out of your summer harvest or prevent your garden from going dormant in October, this session will provide you with a clear guideline for a year-round productive garden!
