Keti Koti 2026

On July 1, Surinamese people commemorate the abolition of transatlantic slavery and celebrate the freedom of the “Broken Chains” (Keti Koti). The name Keti Koti comes from Sranangtongo.
The ladies of the Inspiration Garden have taken the initiative to celebrate Keti Koti at MOES Tuinen this year! During this celebration, we will enjoy a traditional Heri Heri meal and other delicious Surinamese snacks and drinks together. We also hope to be able to draw attention to traditional Surinamese costumes.

A party for all gardeners of MOES who want to celebrate Keti Koti and/or want to know more about the traditions surrounding Keti Koti.

Admission is free, and in connection with the preparation of the meals, it is important to bring yourself no later than Sunday, June 21 to register via THIS LINK.
